A land asset manager with significant holdings in the Charlotte region and nationally has added to its local footprint to make way for more residential development.

Walton Global Holdings said it has acquired over 120 acres in Gaston County.

  • The company acquired the land at 809 Union New Hope Road in Gastonia for $2.9 million this week, according to county real estate records.

  • Walton Global plans to work with homebuilders for single-family residential development on the site, which is one of several large tracts the company holds in the area.

The land, known as the Tucker property, is in southeast Gastonia north of Rufus Ratchford Road.

What they're saying: "The Tucker property is an opportune parcel given the growing housing demand in this area across first-time buyers and move up buyers,ā€ Walton Global Executive Vice President Barry Dluzen said in a news release. ā€œWith the abundance of resources in the surrounding area, we believe Tucker will serve a thriving residential community for years to come once its developed.ā€
  • Walton's North Carolina holdings include eight other properties throughout the state.

  • Three of those are in Gaston County: the 132-acre Willowside Grove, the 619-acre Dutchmanā€™s Creek and the 631-acre Pinnacle Center.

Walton Global's first Gastonia land purchase came in late 2021 at another site off Union New Hope Road.
