🏗 Gateway85 Expands with Continued Leadership of GBA Investors

NorthPoint Development's Gateway85 project in Gaston County continues to grow, with the recent completion of two new industrial buildings.

Why it matters: As we mentioned last week, the GBA is committed to sharing updates concerning economic development activity to inform, educate, and foster community awareness. We are especially proud to share stories when they include loyal Investors, such as NorthPoint Development.

By the numbers: The larger of the two buildings, known as Building 7, spans 705,000 square feet and is designed as a cross-dock warehouse.

  • Building 4, covering 241,000 square feet, features 36-foot clear heights and 22 dock doors, expandable to 45.

  • These state-of-the-art facilities are expected to attract a diverse range of industrial tenants.

Gateway85 has become a hotspot for major tenants, with Newell Brands' massive 1.5 million-square-foot fulfillment center, Amazon.com Inc., and the U.S. Postal Service occupying significant space in the first phase.

  • The bottom line: The park's strategic location along I-85, between Gastonia and Lowell, has undoubtedly contributed to its popularity.

What’s next: Spencer Yorke and John Cashion of JLL are leading leasing efforts for Gateway85, and both newly completed buildings are available for lease. Yorke noted that the flexibility to subdivide the buildings makes them attractive to a wide range of potential tenants.
